Volunteer Resource Management Capacity Building Initiative

The primary goal of the Volunteer Resource Management Capacity Building Initiative is to provide organizations in establishing a structured volunteer program and develop and implement a recruitment strategy that generates the volunteer force needed to accomplish the service site's strategic and operational goals.

AmeriCorps members are trained and placed in a local not for profit organization (that currently does not have a formal volunteer program) to serve as a Volunteer Resource Manager. The AmeriCorps member is responsible for creating a volunteer program that includes recruitment of new volunteers, creating policies and procedures for the volunteer program, orienting and training volunteers and staff, maintaining volunteer records and files, acting as a liaison between volunteers and staff, reporting volunteer impact and contributions to the agency and the community.
